Your gardens are ready for some T.L.C.
Maybe they’re having a heyday–overgrown, weedy and ready for a cleanup–or maybe things are feeling a bit sparse and some additional texture and color would be just the thing.
Or perhaps? You’ve heard a thing or two about the importance of native plants in supporting pollinators and that vast lawns are not-so-great in all their high maintenance ways (both true).
You’re wondering… what else could this garden be?
This is a very powerful question my dear, and my specialty is helping you –
Shall I say more?
Whether you wish to completely renovate garden beds or fill in just a few gaps, naturalistic design will transform your gardens into aesthetically rich and ecologically robust plant communities.

Hm? Oh yes.
You may have guessed by the name ~ Mosaic ~ but this gardening practice points to a collective remembering of an underlying truth that Indigenous human traditions everywhere knew and know, yet much of the industrial western world has forgotten:
The lands around your home are one tiny piece of a larger, interconnected whole Earth system that touches all wildlife, water, air and soils.
The choices we make with this land can either support the health and abundance of these systems or degenerate it.
Here’s an overview:
For those of you reading on, I'll say something a bit fancy~
Isolated plants surrounded by mulch
Dense plant communities
Improved soil moisture retention while filtering ground water and maximizing carbon sequestration; less weeding and mulching over time
Perfectly adapted to regional climate; provide critical food and habitat to insects and birds
Exotic plants
Plants native to New England and North America
Strengthen local ecosystems vs contaminating them; fewer inputs and costs
Plants carefully selected for site conditions; working with natural soil and plant cycles to build fertility over time.
Expensive applications of chemical fertilizer, herbicide and pesticides
Gardens are allowed to evolve and express naturally
Listening and observing essence of the site; understanding plant succession and growth behaviors
Imposing design ideas onto the site; expecting design to remain static
Gardening has been one of my greatest teachers. Working with the plants has brought me into a deeper understanding of Life's rhythms and the appreciation for the beauty that emerges when gardens are cared for with patience and intention.
My role is to be a long-term partner in the care for your land - listening closely and responding accordingly to help the unique essence of the space flourish over time.
Whether I’m tending to an established garden or creating something new, my goal is to curate gardens that give back into the ecological systems they belong to while offering a place of peace to all that may encounter them.
Together, we can cultivate gardens that contribute to a healthier, more vibrant world.
Cas is incredible - she’s personable, professional, and she’s super knowledgeable. We’ve also really appreciated her help in designing a yard/garden that is not only beautiful and sustainable, but also that makes sense for our needs. We’ve worked with her for over a year now and couldn’t be happier with her skillset and service. Would highly recommend! - Claire G.
